If you hadn't noticed, we have a lot of strong opinions here at The Misfit Penguin. And we're firm believers that — whether it's on a t-shirt or in a cartoon — humor is one of the fastest ways to inspire people to think critically.
But now we're adding something new: Activism. Rather than just inspiring, we want to fully engage the issues that we feel matter.
Moreover, we're committing ourselves today to donating over 25% of our profits every quarter to a cause we feel strongly about — and we need your help to decide. In addition to getting the word out about issues on our new Activism page, we'll be turning to people like you on social to poll which charity or non-profit could use our help most.
The Himalayan Stove Project has been providing families in the Himalayas with clean-burning cookstoves and tackling two issues at once: indoor air pollution (one of the biggest killers in the developing world) and deforestation (allowing families to burn less but do more). The Himalayan Stove Project asked us to design a shirt for them to promote their new carbon credit program, Carbon Karma.Visit Himalayan Stove Project
The Chinese demand for shark fin soup kills literally hundreds of millions of sharks annually. That's not just a lot. Very soon, that's going to be all of them. This has to stop. The Misfit Penguin was asked by anti-shark-finning activists to design a t-shirt to raise awareness — and you can pick up a copy of that shirt here. Or better yet, visit WildAid and find out how you can get involved.Visit WILDAID
